I woke up this morning to my 5-year-old whispering "Happy Valentime, Mom." It was the best possible way to start my day. It filled me with love, and isn't that what Valentine's Day is all about?
I also found this note in my son's mailbox. It was delivered yesterday in his school mailbox and I almost didn't see it. It was given to my darling son by his "BFF", a sweet boy named John. Seeing this note brought tears to my eyes, because that kind of sweet, sweet love is so rare, so fleeting. It seems that too soon young boys understand that it's not cool (what?!) to say these things in notes - especially to their boy friends. Such kindness, such love. My heart swells.
Tell someone you love them today. Maybe even someone who doesn't expect it.
What this world needs now is love, sweet love.
I love you. xoxoxoxoxo
